Who We Are

Founded in August 2020 in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, REWO is a registered Refugee‑Led Organization working with refugee and host communities in Yumbe District, Uganda. We design community‑driven solutions in education, livelihoods, protection, peacebuilding, and environmental sustainability.

REWO is rooted in community leadership and guided by the conviction that refugee women are not just survivors of crisis but powerful agents of change. By combining local knowledge with skills development, protection, and advocacy, we address structural barriers such as poverty, gender inequality, limited access to education, and social exclusion.

Our work supports both refugee and host communities, strengthening social cohesion and promoting peaceful coexistence across Bidibidi Refugee Settlement and the wider Yumbe District.
